The position of the  Controls Assurance & Advisory Senior Associate will be responsible to assist the Controls Assurance & Advisory Function in providing certification that our internal control environment is operating effectively. In this role, the Senior Associate will support the company’s SOX efforts, including planning, execution, reviews, and assessments to comply with SOX regulations, as well as deliver the corporate assurance program globally, to bring a systematic, disciplined, and balanced approach evaluating and improving the effectiveness of internal controls. This position reports to the  Controls Assurance & Advisory Senior Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES - WITH OUR CONSUMER AT THE HEART YOUR KEY FOCUS WILL BE

  • Participate and execute a risk focused Global SOX Program, based on the Company’s risk assessment, along with coordinating and guiding compliance activities.
  • Assist with detailed scoping/planning for testing of Internal Controls Over Financial Reporting (ICFR).
  • Perform process walkthroughs, document narratives and flowcharts of key controls over financial reporting, along with the identification of risks, and perform testing of key controls over financial reporting.
  • Prepare / update detailed test plans for financial controls in compliance with testing SOX requirements.
  • Partner with external auditors, for reliance on assurance projects work for SOX compliance.
  • Support the preparation of SOX compliance and status reporting, write-up of deficiencies and recommendations.
  • Prepare a preliminary summary of aggregated deficiencies (SAD) for the Manager/Sr Manager to validate proper classification for evaluation.
  • Assist in the execution of a risk focused Assurance review plan (annual) based on the Company’s inherent risk profile and other concerns identified by management and the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors.
  • Analyze large scale datasets to identify patterns, anomalies, and risks.
  • Oversee open assurance issue's remediation efforts, including periodic testing and reporting, and consolidate results for presentation to senior management, executive leaders and the Audit Committee
  • Assess the effectiveness of the internal control environment and develop plans to address areas for improvement.
  • Engage in special projects within the Controls Assurance & Advisory function and other cross-functional teams globally (i.e. company-wide initiatives, process improvements).
  • Provide guidance to Management regarding recommendations to strengthen internal controls/business processes.
  • Assist in the preparation of Engagement Level Risk Assessments and Planning Memos.
  • Escalate high-risk issues identified during the Assurance projects, unsatisfactory results, and delays in plan completion.
  • Prepare Internal Assurance project reports, socialize with auditee and propose action plans to address findings and areas for opportunity - assist in the review of the Audit Report prior to issuance.

 

SKILLS - THE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE NEEDED TO CREATE YOUR LEGACY

  • University degree in Finance/Business Administration, Accounting, or another relevant field.
  • 5 years of previous audit experience (internal/external including experience in Sarbanes-Oxley)
  • Intermediate knowledge of: Internal Control over Financial Statement (ICFR)/SOX implementation and management / PCAOB Standards and interpretations; COSO framework and experience applying the framework in a manner that supports SOX compliance and operational efficiency; USGAAP framework; and Audit Standards knowledge.
  • A professional accounting/audit certification (CPA) is a plus. Strong financial and accounting knowledge is required.
  • Proficient in data analytics tools often required.
  • Fluent English. Any additional language is a plus.
