The General Accounting Specialist will serve as point of contact between BES operational teams and the local finance organizations in Europe.

This position will ensure the services provided are best in class and completely adhered to the best approach defined. The Client Services team provides first level support to the local finance organization, ensuring the FAS services delight our customers and meet all their needs.

The person in this position will have the opportunity to develop a strong knowledge about all the FAS areas including Cash Accounting, General Ledger, Intercompany, Advertising and Promotion, Costing, and Inventories. This role requires interactions across different functions as a resource to the markets and BES. This role will regularly interact with several organizational levels, ranging from staff to directors (regional and global).  As a key enabling position in the service center, a customer service mindset is essential.

ABOUT YOU

Bacardi Enterprise Services (BES) is looking for a high performing individual who is success driven and interested in a position within BES-FAS acting as the point of contact between our organization and the markets.  The Client Services position is a highly competitive role structured to strengthen communication, strategy, and issue resolution for stakeholders in the different markets.

The desired individual will gain experience managing internal client relationships between BES and their assigned region/countries. This role provides the support and training required to develop a well-rounded skillset, which can be the foundation for advancing at Bacardi.

RESPONSIBILITIES - WITH OUR CONSUMER AT THE HEART YOUR KEY FOCUS WILL BE

  • Provide support to the Local Finance Organization on issue resolution and perform front line troubleshooting both on going and during month end close. Engage the operation team and follow up with them on the necessary action for resolution.
  • Act as the single point of contact between the market and FAS organization, aiming for issue resolution, process improvement and standardization.
  • Drive the necessary analysis and develop market understanding to be able to complete high quality Balance Sheet commentaries and Profit & Loss Statement, whenever requires.
  • Balance Sheet review and analysis of reconciliations, open items, balances swings and variations.
  • Liaise with the different organizations to resolve issues.
  • Preparation and/or supervision of Statutory Financial Statements.
  • Manage local audits and coordinate with other areas the different requests.
  • Coordination among the different areas for the Global Closing Calendar for MEC and Fiscal Year.
  • Oversee and ensure the timely completeness of the financial reporting for the entities in scope.
  • Participate in and oversee the completeness and accuracy of all the financial and accounting processes executed in the entities in scope.
  • Open to receive feedback from the team, listen to their needs and eliminate roadblocks.
  • Identify and execute potential process improvements.
  • Assist in the recruitment, training, and development of the team.
  • Decision making over accounting and financial information.
  • People managers for 3-4 primos (if necessary).
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of the SOX controls under the scope. Support local managers on SOX controls executed at market level.
  • Provide support to Controller team on accounting queries and communicating any specific situation occurring in the market.
  • Perform the GCR forms for the entities under scope.
  • Support pension accounting or any other special accounting processed required by Local Finance Organization.
  • Foster a customer service culture in all interactions with internal customers and markets (stakeholders)
  • Ensure accounting procedures conform to GAAP and Bacardi financial policies and procedures and influence markets and organizations to comply with this goal.
  • Consistently meet or exceed Service Level Agreements and Key Performance Indicators.

SKILLS - THE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE NEEDED TO CREATE YOUR LEGACY

To be successful in this role you will have / be:

  • Strong analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, and manage his/her time efficiently
  • Strong operations experience in Finance and Accounting, knowledge of FAS related processes.
  • University degree in Business/Accounting or related discipline
  • Must be fluent in English (C1 level), Spanish is a plus.
  • Demonstrated Strong analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
  • Hands-on experience with major ERP platforms including SAP and/or Cognos Controller.
  • Proficiency with the MS Office Suite (particularly MS Excel).
  • Ability to encourage creative thinking beyond the boundaries of existing company practices and mindsets.
  • Detail oriented with the ability to capture information in a clear, concise manner and can adapt information for various audiences
  • Proactive individual that can collaborate and build effective relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to transfer knowledge to other members of the team.
  • Advanced communication skills (as a presenter, leading conference calls, communicating with other members of the organization at different levels).

The following experiences are preferred:

  • Experience in the Spirits and/or FMCG industry is a distinct advantage 
  • Solid knowledge of Bacardi Business Partner/Shared Services/Centre of Expertise
  • Experience in Shared Services environment and previous experience in accounting tasks preferred
  • Other languages specific to served geographies desirable (i.e. French, Italian)
