WHAT DOES THE FINANCE DIRECTOR OF PROCUREMENT DO?
The Finance Director, Procurement will lead financial reporting, financial analysis, working capital, budgeting, compliance and strategic financial planning for the company’s Procurement function. This individual will work closely with Procurement, Supply Chain, Markets, Brand Team and Finance teams to drive cost efficiency, improve working capital, and enhance supplier relationships through data-driven insights.
The role requires a strong understanding of financial processes, strategic sourcing, cost analysis, risk management and the tools and techniques needed to unlock sustainable value from Bacardi’s supplier base.
The role holder has a strong business partnering ethic, working closely with the Chief Procurement Officer (CPO); collaboratively and constructively driving performance with a positive culture for continuous improvement.

RESPONSIBILITIES
WITH OUR CONSUMER AT THE HEART, YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE TO:
Strategic Financial Leadership
- ·Collaborate with senior leaders in procurement and finance to support the development and implementation of procurement strategies that align with overall business objectives.
- ·Lead the financial analysis and reporting for procurement activities, including but not limited to supplier negotiations, pricing/volume strategies, sourcing initiatives, value creation program, inflation/deflation and risk management strategies
- ·Drive cost-saving initiatives through data analysis, budget management, and supplier performance reviews.
- ·Lead financial governance to ensure appropriate performance measurement/evaluation for the Procurement function
Budgeting and Forecasting
- ·Oversee procurement-related financial planning, including annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and long-term strategic planning.
- ·Ensure accurate and timely reporting of procurement financial performance, identifying risks and opportunities, including commodity risk management
- ·Benchmark procurement – internally and externally across all key metrics to ensure we are delivering top quartile performance.
- ·Work closely with the Commodity risk management head to improve forecasting in order to reduce volatility throughout the year and reduce forecasting bias
- ·Review and have clarity on the Economic assumptions and changes throughout the year and how they are impacting the budget assumptions
- ·Financial performance analysis, including savings initiatives, cost avoidance, working capital optimization, price/volume variances
- ·Working with trading teams and finance leads of plants for setting up transfer pricing of bulk
Procurement Operations Optimization
- ·Partner with procurement teams, the Procurement Process Excellence & Strategy & Insights team, BES and others to identify opportunities to make financial procurement processes more effective and efficient
Cost Optimization & Savings
- ·Partner with the CPO, regional procurement leads, and global category leads to identify cost optimization opportunities in direct and indirect procurement categories.
- ·Monitor and track procurement savings against targets and ensure appropriate financial governance.
- ·Develop metrics and dashboards to monitor procurement efficiency and performance.
- ·Work closely with the financial head in the regions/functions for appropriate savings/cash and cost avoidance reporting linked to Procurement activities
Supplier & Contract Management
- ·Support contract negotiations by providing financial models and analysis of supplier pricing and terms. Ensure we mitigate any risks related to supplier price adjustments embedded in our contracting commitments
- ·Ensure we mitigate risks linked to supplier price adjustments, working capital and commodity hedging
- ·Establish frameworks to evaluate supplier performance and ensure that financial risks are minimized.
Compliance & Risk Management
- ·Work closely with the Process excellence and Strategy & Insights team (PSI) to ensure compliance with corporate procurement policies, financial controls, and audit requirements. Lead reporting on contractual commitments.
- ·Assess financial risks related to procurement activities, commodity pricing, and supplier solvency.
- ·Actively support Procurement in the vendor due diligence process
Team Leadership & Development
- ·Build and lead a high-performing Procurement Finance team.
- ·Provide mentorship, coaching, and development opportunities for team members.
- ·Foster a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration across procurement and finance functions.
SKILLS
THE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE NEEDED TO CREATE YOUR LEGACY:
- ·Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and partner with senior stakeholders.
- ·Problem solving, critical thinking, detail-oriented. Ability to think creatively, multitask and project manage.
- ·Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g. SAP) and advanced Excel/modelling skills, commodity risk management.
- ·Deep understanding of procurement supplier category management, procurement processes, supplier relationship management and contract negotiations.
- ·Situational adaptability; able to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
PERSONAL QUALITIES
- ·Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. Professional Accounting qualification preferred.
- ·Strong leadership experience, with at least 8 years in a senior finance management role.
- ·Proven track record of driving financial performance and cost efficiency.
- ·10+ years of experience in Finance roles with a focus on procurement, supply chain or cost management.
- ·Fluent English Speaking.
