The Logistics & Transportation Manager will oversee and coordinate all aspects of the LDC dry goods/materials warehouse & associated 3PLs. This role includes overseeing inbound/outbound shipments, transportation/traffic control, inventory management of dry goods/finished goods, warehouse improvement/expansion projects, export documentation with associated TTB reporting & bulk liquid transportation. The Logistics & Transportation Manager will have 3 direct reports including 1 Logistics Coordinator & 2 material handlers (1st/2nd shift).

The ideal candidate will have previous experience leading warehouse & manufacturing functions.
The candidate should demonstrable a track record of successful delivery of business goals in a high-paced, changing Operations environment.
This person is expected to think strategically and ensure continuous improvements are identified and implemented as well as lead/develop a high-performing warehouse team.
RESPONSIBILITIES - WITH OUR CONSUMER AT THE HEART YOUR KEY FOCUS WILL BE
- Responsible for leading the dry goods/materials warehouse team (Material Handlers & Logistics Coordinator) in accordance with established company policies/procedures, quality specifications, and safety standards with the spirit of continuous improvement.
- Oversees activities related to transportation & traffic control to ensure all inbound/outbound deliveries are properly executed & that dock is maintained for safety & quality.
- Leads all physical inventory related activities, including cycle counts, satisfactorily reconciling differences through root-causing & providing to Finance (in accordance with SOX & TTB compliance)
- Leads all warehouse-related (transportation & logistics) improvement projects &/or projects related to warehouse sizing/expansion
- Responsible for driving inventory processes that maximize storage capacity & practices JIT inventory management.
- Partners with Processing Team to support Henry County bulk tanker inbound/outbound operations
- Resolves problems concerning transportation, yard capacity, exports, and customer orders/concerns.
- Acts as exports coordinator, in conjunction with Production planning team for international shipments.
- Responsible for the timely receipt of goods and on time shipment of customer orders.
- Proactive coordination of dispensation of aged, damaged, and obsolete products.
- Performs root cause analysis for safety/quality & customer related incidents.
- Responsible for the coaching & development of a small team of direct reports with appropriate succession planning
- Actively participates in developing and improving warehouse operations processes and procedures.
- Ability to act as a backup for Transportation Coordinator & other warehouse-specific roles, as necessary.
- Partners with LDC Leadership team to set measurable goals and objectives for the Planning & Logistics/Warehousing Dept.
- Collaborate with department heads, internal and external business partners and associates, and key stakeholders to ensure execution of warehousing and logistics activities meet or exceed the objectives of the organization.
SKILLS - THE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE NEEDED TO CREATE YOUR LEGACY
- Ability to develop a team vision/strategy & attract/develop talent within the organization.
- Project management experience, maintaining timeline & budget
- Ability to analyze data, create reports, maintain required SOX & TTB documentation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, PPT & SAP. DRAMS experience is a plus.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Able to lead troubleshooting activities across depts & gain buy-in.
- Ability to operate (or willingness to learn) Material Handling Equipment such as Forklifts & spotter trucks.
EXTERNAL QUALIFICATIONS – DEGREE, CERTIFICATION, ADDITIONAL TRAINING
- Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Inventory Management or Supply Chain discipline highly preferred
- 3-5 years of Warehouse/Logistics leadership experience in manufacturing environment
- SAP Systems - Proven experience in warehouse/inventory management SAP movements & troubleshooting/root-causing. Experience in DRAMS is a plus.
- Experience in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) highly preferred
- Microsoft Excel - Demonstrated knowledge of pivot tables, V-lookups, BI reporting
