WHAT DOES MATERIAL PLANNER DO?

This position supports the Global Procurement and Supply Chain Strategy through end-to-end material planning, purchasing and delivery schedule of materials at established prices from qualified suppliers that meet Bacardi quality, delivery, and service standards. This role will be responsible for managing medium- and long-term requirements for supply of materials, driving material strategy and optimizing working capital, building, and maintaining a strong supplier relationship and working closely with Global Procurement team and quality in mitigating any factors related to availability.

ABOUT YOU

This role requires an individual with high levels of business acumen, analytical capabilities, and the ability to build a strong network of contacts internally & with our suppliers. This is a critical to the long-term success of Bacardi brands and requires a mastery of technical & system skills and attention to detail, with a strong background in Supply Chain.

RESPONSIBILITIES

WITH OUR CONSUMER AT THE HEART, YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE TO:

  • Responsible for long-, mid- and short-term planning of materials in line with Master Production Plan, including support in new innovations and projects
  • Optimize material strategy and working capital to meet business needs, minimizing excess and no mover stock to prevent write offs.
  • Key contact for material suppliers in terms of managing deliveries, sharing forecast (mid-long term) and supplier performance.
  • Understand market fluctuations in demand to share insights with suppliers to mitigate any risks to supply and/or material overstock and write off risks.
  • Take ownership of any planning issues that arise due to material supply and follow up actions especially in the event of material shortages that affect internal production.
  • Proactively look for new ways of working within material planning with a continuous improvement attitude to working practices.
  • Attend and participate in supplier review meetings on a monthly and quarterly basis with full participation in SPM meetings providing information on supply and supplier performance.
  • Develop and adhere to Service level agreements with respective suppliers, drive suppliers to meet the required performance and look at optimizing ways of working with entire supply base.
  • Ensure on time invoice payments in partnership with BES team to resolve issues, if needed
  • Manage the integrity of the Bill of Materials (BOM), Operating models, SAP master data

SKILLS

THE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE NEEDED TO CREATE YOUR LEGACY:

  • Supply chain roles and experience in planning, purchasing or production planning
  • Strong communication, problem solving, critical thinking, and analytical stills.
  • Ability to use computer hardware and software, ability to utilize office machinery
  • Strong Knowledge of SAP, active user of SAP ECC, SRM
  • Good organizational skills and strong time management.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills

PERSONAL QUALITIES

  • Minimum education: BA/BS required, preferable in Supply Chain, Operations or a related field
  • Minimum experience: 3+ years of Supply Chain experience
  • Language: fluent in English, Spanish (optional)
