WHAT DOES A TRANSPORTATION MANAGER DO?

As a key leader in our Supply Chain organization, the Transportation Manager will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end execution of all Ocean Imports into the USA, Domestic Transportation, and Export Shipments. This role ensures operational excellence, financial accuracy, and compliance across all transportation activities. You will lead strategic initiatives, manage 3PL performance, and provide critical insights to senior leadership to support business growth and efficiency.

RESPONSIBILITIES

WITH OUR CONSUMER AT THE HEART, YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE TO:

Ocean Imports Oversight

  • Monitor all inbound ocean shipments to the USA for timeliness, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Coordinate with freight forwarders and customs brokers to ensure seamless customs clearance and delivery.

Domestic & Export Logistics

  • Lead and manage all domestic transportation operations and outbound export shipments.
  • Ensure timely, cost-effective, and compliant delivery of goods across the U.S. and to international destinations.
  • Oversee performance of domestic 3PL providers, ensuring contract adherence, KPI achievement, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead the annual RFP process for domestic transportation providers to drive cost optimization and service excellence.

Compliance & Financial Accuracy

  • Ensure all transportation activities are fully compliant with SOX requirements and internal audit standards.
  • Maintain and update Master Data in SAP to ensure data integrity and operational accuracy.
  • Oversee transportation-related financial accruals, ensuring alignment with actuals and budget forecasts.

Reporting & Analysis

  • Lead quarterly logistics cut-off meetings, providing insights on sales figures, shipment performance, and risk mitigation.
  • Deliver high-impact logistics performance reports and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.

Invoice Auditing

  • Audit and validate domestic and ocean freight invoices to ensure accuracy, contractual compliance, and cost control.

SKILLS

THE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE NEEDED TO CREATE YOUR LEGACY:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in transportation or logistics management, with a strong track record of leadership.
  • Experience with international shipping regulations and Incoterms.
  • Familiarity with Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
  • Professional certifications such as APICS, CSCMP, or equivalent are a plus.
  • Deep expertise in SAP, Master Data Management, and data analysis; Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, analyze cost drivers, and implement cost-saving initiatives.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and report to executive leadership.
  • Experience managing transportation of goods and bulk liquids via air, rail, sea, and over-the-road (OTR).
  • Demonstrated success in managing 3PL relationships and leading RFP processes.
  • Solid understanding of SOX compliance and financial controls in a logistics environment.
