Based in our Barcelona Hub, the Raw Materials Category Manager will drive the end-to-end sourcing strategy for key raw materials supporting some of our most iconic, high-growth brands. In this role, you will take ownership of the category management process—from strategy definition through execution—specifically focusing on the Global Flavors portfolio.

This position offers high visibility, direct exposure to senior stakeholders, and the opportunity to design breakthrough sourcing models that reshape our long-term supply chain. It is an ideal step for a strategic, analytical, and results-driven procurement professional looking to accelerate their growth into a senior sourcing or category management role.

RESPONSIBILITIES - WITH OUR CONSUMER AT THE HEART YOUR KEY FOCUS WILL BE

Global category management for flavours:

  • Lead the development of a global sourcing strategy and global category management practices for Flavours for the group.
  • Collaborate with global and regional stakeholders to ensure strategy alignment and sign off.
  • Lead the global implementation of sourcing strategies, gaining regional alignment and providing coaching to regional procurement leaders to ensure successful execution.
  • Establish best-in-class sourcing and contracting practices, enhancing supplier relationship management, allowing clear and auditable financial reporting, and promoting responsible sourcing and sustainability practices

Sourcing

  • Define and implement the EU regional sourcing approach, aligned with Bacardi’s procurement principles, supply chain priorities, and category needs.
  • Lead supplier selection, contract negotiation, and performance management, ensuring best value, continuity of supply, and quality adherence.
  • Own commercial agreements, ensuring they are clearly defined, compliant with internal policies, and reflected accurately in systems.
  • Ensure collaboration with local teams to address day-to-day sourcing needs and long-term category goals.
  • Accountable for delivering results in the category, including value creation, budget adherence, cash flow optimization, service levels, quality, compliance, and sustainability targets.

Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) & Risk Mitigation:

  • Develop and manage supplier relationships for the materials under scope to ensure alignment with Bacardi’s sourcing needs and category strategy.
  • Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues related to service, delivery, or quality.
  • Lead proactive contingency planning and supply chain resilience initiatives to protect against supply disruptions
  • Collaborate with the Commodity Risk Committee (CRC) and Finance teams to assess price trends, manage volatility, and support risk mitigation strategies.

Sustainability and Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify and support sustainability initiatives for the flavours, ingredients and botanicals contributing to Bacardi’s Good Spirited ambitions.
  • Drive year-on-year cost and operational improvements, working with suppliers to unlock efficiencies and increase value delivery.
  • Engage suppliers to implement environmentally responsible practices (that are relevant to each category in alignment with key stakeholders) and develop a pipeline of sustainability opportunities, tracking progress and reporting on key initiatives in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
  • Continuously monitor industry trends, benchmarks, and best practices to evolve category strategies and supplier capabilities.

Smart Contracting, Administration and reporting:

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders across SC, R&D (liquid), Quality, Legal, and Finance to ensure aligned decision-making and shared objectives.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all procurement-related matters in your categories at the European level.
  • Maintain accurate pricing and supplier data in SAP and other systems.
  • Ensure all contracts are centrally stored and compliant with internal guidelines.
  • Support the budgeting and cost tracking processes in collaboration with Finance.

Contribute insights and analysis to category reporting and strategic reviews

SKILLS - THE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE NEEDED TO CREATE YOUR LEGACY

Education:

  • Master’s degree in Business, Economics, or Engineering. Specialization in Purchasing or a CIPS qualification is preferred.

Experience:

  • 5 years+ in procurement and/or supply chain roles, ideally with expertise of the flavor&flagrance, the spirits industry and sourcing of raw materials or agricultural products.
  • Track record in managing supplier relationships, handling large and complex negotiation with a focus.
  • Exposure to commodity-based markets
  • Experience working in a matrixed, international organization preferred

Languages:

  • Fluency in English required.
  • Proficiency in additional languages (Italian, French, Spanish) is beneficial.

Functional Skills:

  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Proficient in sourcing strategy development and execution.
  • Familiarity with commodity risk management and market dynamics.
  • Strong understanding of sustainability principles in agricultural sourcing.
  • Proficiency in SAP and procurement reporting tools.
  • High analytical and financial acumen; ability to manage cost models and forecasts.

  • Proactive and entrepreneurial, able to work independently while driving cross-functional alignment.
