As Tax Advisory Manager EUROPE/APAC, you will lead Bacardi’s tax strategy across assigned key European and Asian markets, acting as the primary advisor on direct tax matters. You’ll manage planning, audits, transfer pricing and compliance efforts while supporting initiatives like Pillar 2. Working closely with global and regional teams, you’ll ensure Bacardi’s tax structure is efficient, compliant, and aligned with business goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Within the Global Tax Department, the primary responsibility of the Tax Advisory Manager EUROPE/ASIA is to manage, protect and optimize the direct tax position of his / her assigned countries and be the main contact person for the local finance teams, tax authorities and external advisors on direct tax-related matters. The role requires a demonstrated ability to provide strong technical skills and advice in international tax planning matters and an ability to work closely with Bacardi’s local finance teams and regional tax team members to ensure Bacardi’s overall tax structure is governed. You can expect some travel (approx. 5-10% of your time) to stay connected to key stakeholders in the region.
- Act as main point of contact on all direct tax matters for assigned countries
- Playing an active role in tax audits, maintaining contact with the Tax
- Authorities and external advisors, and preparing and actively contributing to meetings with the Tax Authorities. Develop audit defense strategies and provide technical assistance throughout the audit process
- Active involvement in Transfer Pricing (price setting, monitoring and documentation)
- Support / review of corporate tax and withholding tax returns prepared by Compliance Team
- Contribute to Pillar 2 calculations and support with the further implementation of compliance setup within Bacardi
- Supporting interim and year-end tax accounting processes, ensuring alignment with group financial reporting
- Developing and maintaining key relationships with the wider teams within the company and tax department to ensure the effectiveness of tax processes, data quality, and reporting across the business
- Work closely within the region with other functional team members (Compliance, Transfer Pricing, Reporting)
- Assist with obtaining and maintaining APAs and ATRs and help to negotiate renewals where required
- Work closely with external advisors and other stakeholders
- Continually assessing developments in national and international tax legislation and jurisprudence in countries assigned and translating these into opportunities and risks and keeping tax knowledge up to date. Keep relevant stakeholders updated on these legislative developments
- Assist in the timely execution of tax planning/incentives projects and in doing so work closely with other departments (finance, legal, Co-Gov, control)
- Assist the Group to advance its goal of standardizing / automating processes and controls
- Co-develop financial models to allow management to understand the tax and financial impact of new business initiatives (e.g. new route to markets).
- Assist in drafting inter-company agreements, including revising and updating existing agreements
SKILLS - THE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE NEEDED TO CREATE YOUR LEGACY
- Master’s degree in tax (economics or law)
- At least 5 to 7 years of experience in working in Big 4 advisory
- Strong understanding of multinational enterprises, consolidated tax groups and tax planning concepts and good written communication and presentation skills
- Up to date with key international tax developments, e.g. OECD BEPS, EU tax harmonizing initiatives, Pillar 2.
- Effective negotiation skills, a proactive and 'no surprises' approach in communicating issues and strength in sustaining independent views
- Strong analytical, interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to influence stakeholders in support of optimal business decisions and risk management
- Experience in working in cross-border and multi-disciplinary teams as a tax subject matter expert
- Proficiency in English is a must.
- The following experiences are preferred:
- In-house experience in a multinational (with valuable intellectual property)
- Experience with SAP Financial Systems or similar environment
- Experience in a multinational company with a complex supply chain structure involving branded products
- Experience in the Spirits and/or Beverage industry would be a distinct advantage
- French, German, Italian and/or Spanish language skills would be very useful
