WHAT DOES A BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR DO?

Business Development Coordinator is responsible for increasing visitors, profit, and market share for Bombay Sapphire Distillery (BSD). This role encompasses all areas of business development, with a focus on groups, partnerships, and events business.

Tasked with enhancing visitor numbers, profitability, and market share through strategic partnerships and event management, this role involves collaboration across various departments to implement a comprehensive business development plan.

RESPONSIBILITIES - WITH OUR CONSUMER AT THE HEART YOUR KEY FOCUS WILL BE

  • Create & implement business development action plan targeting both leisure and business customers under the direction of the Brand Home Manager and support of the Experiential Manager and Marketing Coordinator, promoting the Brand Home to consumer, groups, and event markets.
  • Create strong partnerships with the Tourism industry, locally and internationally, with a focus on accommodation providers, airlines, cruise lines, destination management companies, online directories and tour operators.
  • Attend external sales events such as trade fairs and offsite events and conduct client meetings.
  • Manage relationships and drive proactive sales with group travel operators, DMCs, tourism and accommodation providers and own B2B relationships.
  • Support sales leads for events, working closely with the Events team to maximize commercial opportunity and deliver revenue.
  • Promote BSD to achieve the yearly agreed budget by attracting individuals, the groups market, and the events market.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Coordinator, ensure a holistic and aligned approach to the overall Sales & Marketing plans, keeping in close touch with the Marketing function.
  • Support the Commercial Manager to leverage commercial opportunities and deliver revenue, including bar and retail, as well as e-commerce.                               
  • Collaborate with UK Commercial Team on trade sales to develop partnerships, where appropriate.
  • Review, evaluate, and maintain accurate sales reports.
  • Analyze all inquiries, proposals, and opportunities before approval with Brand Home Manager, responding in a timely manner.
  • Oversee development of new accounts and keeps up to date data of existing partnerships.
  • Create and maintain contracts/agreements for BSD with customers and key operators.
  • Assist Brand Home Manager in establishing market pricing strategies to increase individual and group attendance.
  • Create and manage promotional opportunities with all complementary businesses in collaboration with Marketing Coordinator.
  • Leverage international partnerships to create opportunities to promote other Bacardi Brand Homes.
  • Stay up to date on the developments of the tourism industry. 
  • Stay up to date with Bacardi’s gifting and other applicable policies.
  • Be a team player and willing to help others when needed, including in other departments.
  • Have a fundamental understanding of all products sold at BSD, thus using this product knowledge to inform partnerships.
  • Have a fundamental understanding of the key importance of excellence in customer experience and hospitality.
  • Must be prepared to work flexible hours according to business requirements, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Performs other duties, as assigned.

SKILLS - THE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE NEEDED TO CREATE YOUR LEGACY

Work Experience Requirements:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Familiarity in MS office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Effective communication and direct sales experience.
  • Understanding of marketing principles and strategies would be beneficial.
  • Delivery-focused mindset, able to execute efficiently, on time and to budget.
  • Previous experience in a sales or business development role is preferable.

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field preferred.
