As a Maintenance Planner you will be responsible for implementing the maintenance strategy and organizing the tactical elements for their practical execution. This role designs a specific plan of tasks, which allow the department to comply with that course of action. Also, plan and schedule the daily activities of maintenance associates in accordance with customer priorities, availability of equipment, materials, environmental requirements, and security, as applicable.
Being the Maintenance Planner is:
- Study and know the assets: the maintenance planner's work is based on the knowledge he has of the assets. This knowledge is built from: the study and observation of the equipment
- Know what material the equipment is made of what the manufacturer's recommendations are, knowing the internal operation of their operation and their operating conditions, among others).
- Communicate with the operators, who must inform you of any anomaly or failure during use; carrying out diagnostics, in which it detects the fault and determines its causes.
- Receive, verify and analyze all customer requests daily, except for emergencies.
- Diagnose the physical assets of the organization.
- Supports the detection of failure or the determination of its causes.
- Maintain key indicators that help understand the relationship between occurrence, conditions of use, environmental conditions, frequency, severity and, if possible, detectability.
- Keep information updated within the CMMS (SAP) system for planned corrective actions and preventive maintenance.
- Keeps the Maintenance Software information up to date: equipment, history of equipment and work carried out, pending orders, preventive and predictive routines, frequencies, etc.
- Design and prepare work instructions or procedures with structured steps, to guide technicians when intervening on assets.
- Defining the right time to execute a maintenance task means taking production goals into account.
- Hold daily or weekly meetings with the operations team to incorporate production goals as another factor to consider during the task scheduling process and ensure the good condition and operation of physical assets.
- Schedule activities corresponding to the maintenance management phase and determine the day and time they should be carried out.
- Define the scope, priority and identifies the requirements for the execution of customer requests (personnel, materials, tools, safety aspects, estimated time, work instructions).
- Coordinate with the clients and the Maintenance facilitators the programming of the Work Orders according to the availability of the equipment.
- Maintains and Optimizes the Maintenance Planning and Scheduling process.
- Manage and monitor the performance of the technicians, keeping in mind the accurate knowledge of who should be assigned to each task, depending on the level of performance, knowledge and experience in each case.
- Organize and direct the work teams, offering the necessary support to coordinate, integrate and perform effectively.
- Forecast and verify the availability of materials, resources and safety equipment required for the execution of Work Orders
- Coordinates the purchase or hiring of contractors or suppliers, if necessary.
- Coordinate and manage external contractors that, depending on the type of maintenance tasks to be carried out, will be imperative or not integrated into the permanent work team of the maintenance management department.
- Interact with facilitators, leaders and technicians.
- Create periodic reports from including completed tasks, pending tasks and delayed tasks. Detail how many of them were completed according to plan, how many were executed well on the first try, and who executed them.
- Follow up on compliance and final documentation of Work Orders.
- Keeps the client informed of the Status of Work Orders.
- Comply with and ensure compliance with the standards and procedures of Environmental, Health, Safety, Quality and Policies established by the company.
- To do any other reasonable duty in accordance with the needs of the business.

* Bachelor’s degree - Engineering or Science (Required)
* Master’s degree - Management (Preferable)

* 1 – 3 years -Lean Manufacturing
* 2 – 5 years - Planning
* 2 years - Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
* 1 year - Operations and/or Maintenance Industrial Equipment
* 6 months - Good Manufacturing Practices / Good Distribution Practices
* 6 months - Interpretation/ Analysis of design documents
* 6 months – 1 year - ISO 9000, ISO 14000, OSHA 18000
Licenses / Certifications
