Join Bacardi’s dynamic North America Tax Team and play a key role in strengthening and streamlining statutory tax compliance and accounting processes across the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico. This role offers the opportunity to deepen your technical expertise, drive process improvements, collaborate across functions, and contribute to a high-performing tax team supporting a complex and diverse regional hub.
ABOUT YOU
You are a proactive and detail-oriented tax professional with a strong foundation in statutory tax compliance and accounting. You have a natural curiosity about the business and a drive to deliver high-quality results. RESPONSIBILITIES - WITH OUR CONSUMER AT THE HEART YOUR KEY FOCUS WILL BE
- Ensure the accurate and timely filings of the U.S. Federal and State/Local Income Tax returns for various NAM entities
- Ongoing connection with business partners (finance, legal, other) to ensure current knowledge of non-recurring events, changes in the business, and impact on taxes
- Ensure accurate statutory financial reporting throughout the year
- Review book results and various journal entries for analysis of book to tax adjustments
- Interface with various finance teams and shared service center resources to ensure thorough understanding of statutory results and reporting of tax sensitive transactions
- Prepare federal, state and provincial income tax returns prepared in tax software
- Prepare analysis of book to tax differences, tax return working papers, investigate material discrepancies between year-end tax accounting and tax returns
- Deliver timely analysis and response to matters identified by the Tax Manager on consolidated or separate tax returns
- Prepare filing adjustments to state returns for federal audit adjustments
- Prepare analysis to “true up” income tax returns with year-end tax accounting entries
- Prepare tax research on specific federal and state income tax issues
- Keep up to date on relevant U.S. and Canadian tax compliance legal and procedural developments
- Support other tax compliance and projects, as required
- Ensure the accurate and timely preparation of tax financial reporting submissions
- Prepare accurate and timely tax accounting submissions
- Prepare tax reporting packages and entries for various entities for the submission of the following: Budgets, latest estimates and quarterly reporting
- Complete supporting documentation in compliance of SOX procedures
- Ensure accurate calculation and timely payment of federal, state, provincial and GST estimated tax payments
- Support indirect tax compliance as required (ie., sales and use tax, beverage tax, Canadian GST, and other non-income tax)
- Ensure business changes and impact on transfer pricing are timely considered and properly executed including intercompany agreements, recharges amongst legal entities and other supporting documentation
SKILLS - THE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE NEEDED TO CREATE YOUR LEGACY
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- CPA or MST preferred
- Big 4 accounting firm experience or comparable preferred
- Experience with US IRC Sec 199 Domestic Production Activities Deduction, IRC Sec 263A Uniform Capitalization Rules, and foreign tax credit preferred
- 2+ years of experience with federal and state income tax compliance
- Strong tax technical skills and working knowledge of U.S. transfer pricing regulations
- Working knowledge of US GAAP financial reporting, deferred tax accounting, valuation allowances, etc.
- Working knowledge of SAP with the ability to retrieve account balances and journal entries
- Fluency in Spanish an asset
