What Does a Supply Chain Planning Manager Do?

The Supply Chain Planning Manager Rum is essentially the ‘conductor’ of Rum supply chain and the global point of contact for Rum. It links the business with the end-to-end Supply Chain, working with the majority of the operational teams.  Focus on driving the long term visibility of demand to ensure availability of liquid & product. It will also play a key role in the governence of  portfolio and Innovation, and will be a gatekeeper for new product launches. 

The role provides creative solutions to support dynamic market needs with an eye on overall efficiency and drives discipline on ways of working, including an aligned SLA between markets & manufacturing

They are the local lead for stock life cycle and obsolete management, fulfilment, Innovation Project attendance, and product master data through their direct reports

About You

This role requires an individual with high levels of business acumen and the ability to build a strong network of contacts across all functions.

This role is pivotal to the long-term success of the Brand and requires a mastery of communication, coordination and attention to detail, with a strong background in Supply Chain


With our consumer at the heart your key focus will be
  • Performance manage, coach and develop Fulfilment & Innovation Coordinator and Master Data Coordinator. Ensure they have a career path and they understand the requirements to achieve it
  • Establish and maintain SLAs with key markets, including; order cadence rules aligned with the Run Strategy of JAX Supply
  • Support innovation process with focus on a lean portfolio optimization and master data readiness
  • Lead the Supply S&OP Review and the Portfolio Management processes for JAX Supply
  • Accountable for Rum liquid forecasting through market demand data insights and the Long-Term Demand Plan, working closely with Puerto Rico to ensure liquid availability for short, medium and long-term
  • Lead VSM activity across the end to end Supply to drive improvement & efficiency
  • Support Standard Costing and Budget process preparations for JAX Supply
  • Lead the slow & no movers optimization, in collaboration with Planning; proactive mitigation and communication with markets for obsolescence and write off
  • Develop a strategic presence with brand/marketing and market teams to ensure deep understanding of needs and help influence simplification or investment, including quarterly BBR. 
  • Challenge and improve the demand signal via disciplined communication with markets and customers to ensure that the short-, mid- and long-term signal is correctly reflected in SAP and that the correct product codes are used 
  • Ensure that strong action plans are in place to drive improvements in alignment with the BOS SN Pillar

  • Ability to connect the dots on systems, processes and functions to continuously drive improvement
  • Supply Chain knowledge with experience of Production and Material Planning, Demand and Forecasting, Customer Service Focus
  • Able to navigate short term actions into strategies. Ability to think quickly, creatively and challenge team to do the same.
Personal Qualities
  • BA/BS required, Market experience & Supply Chain Manager certification desirable.
  • Strong experience in Supply Chain
  • Minimum 3 years leadership experience
  • Fluent English
