RESPONSIBILITIES
- Own the execution of the statutory reporting (compliance) process, in coordination with regional controllers, Center of Excellence Tax and Company Secretary.
- Prepare and/or review statutory financial statements for several legal entities of the Company.
- Monitor completion of Statutory Financial Statements with local finance teams and external service providers and auditors to adhere to country deadlines.
- Manage the relationship with external service providers.
- Distribute, coordinate and monitor data requests with various departments for data used to prepare statutory financial statements.
- Review and assist with the maintenance of statutory ledger (non-leading ledger) in SAP.
- Prepare and maintain dividend forecasts.
- Continuously identify opportunities to innovate processes and assist in improvement projects (ad-hoc basis)
- Communicate effectively with internal Bacardi clients as necessary to ensure that work is properly delivered. Foster a customer service culture in all interactions with internal and external customers/vendors.
- Detect and propose areas/activities where BES services can be expanded.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Strong experience in Finance and Accounting Operations.
- Experience in preparing and/or reviewing statutory financial statements and managing statutory audits.
- Good understanding how to account for local vs US GAAP differences.
- Ability to clearly explain and advice when to use tax vs statutory ledgers.
- A self-starter with change, project management and execution skills.
- Proven ability to work independently and proactively, managing and prioritizing high workload and multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
- An effective manager of own and others’ workload to meet project deadlines while maintaining quality and focus.
- Proactive individual that can collaborate and build effective relationships across all levels of the organization.
- Excellent interpersonal & communication skills, being able to communicate with high levels of the organization and negotiate process changes. Ability to develop deep and trusted relationships with more senior colleagues, peers, stakeholders and external data providers.
- Detail oriented with the ability to capture information in a clear, concise manner and can adapt information for various audiences.
- Ability to push creative thinking beyond the boundaries of existing company practices and mindsets. Think and plan strategically to enhance designated processes including technology enhancements.
- Ability to work effectively and achieve results in a matrix organization.
- Ability to identify root cause issues and develop plans to resolve.
- Skilled at organizing and prioritizing multiple projects and resource constraints to optimize results.
- Must be fluent in English and Spanish.
- Experience in the Spirits and/or FMCG industry is a distinct advantage.
- Solid knowledge of Bacardi Business Partner/Shared Services/Centre of Expertise.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required, MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- CPA certification preferred.
