YOUR OPPORTUNITY

Responsibility for providing Quality Assurance direction to the Louisville Distilling Company business entities to include Angel’s Envy Production Facilities.  Develop and maintain a systematic approach to ensure the products manufactured by Louisville Distilling Company meet customer and Global Quality expectations and achieves superior quality and reliability levels.  Effectively hire, manage, train, develop, motivate, and evaluate department staff.


RESPONSIBILITIES

·         Oversees, directs, and manages the Quality Assurance function to ensure highly disciplined compliance with all product and process quality parameters and standards including specifications, approved methods, procedures, practices, and systems.

    • Product and process quality management systems
    • Consumer/Customer complaint investigation, response, resolution, and tracking
    • Product quality evaluation
    • “Quality Hold” program, defect monitoring, resolution, and tracking

·         Ensures highly disciplined compliance with all regulatory and company defined beverage safety and sanitation standards, systems, procedures, and practices to guarantee absolute quality of our products and packaging including:

    • Supplier audits/certifications,
    • Inbound inspection imported products
    • Inbound inspection industrial materials
    • Microbiological testing
    • Lot tracking
    • Sanitation
    • HACCP/Food Safety
    • ’s
    • Quality Systems
    • Well/Municipal water
    • Waste water
    • FDA (Food and Drug Administration)
    • TTB (Tax and Trade Bureau)

·         Oversees HACCP/ISO programs and training (Business Management/Quality Management Systems) and related activities to ensure operational compliance (i.e., training, internal and external audits, certification, and management review).

·         Manages technical packaging function and responsible for administering line trials, analyzing data and making recommendations. Facilitates product, package, and process troubleshooting.

·         Provides technical assistance to Research and Development or other laboratories in developing, testing, and documenting new or improved products, procedures, and methods.

·         Conducts audits of suppliers’ processes, products, and quality systems.  Evaluates and coordinates corrective action follow-ups.

·         Meets with suppliers to discuss and resolve any potential or existing quality issues.

·         Prepares various reports and documents and administers the research, submission and documentation for Operations Director, Global Quality, Bacardi Martini and internal matters as required or regulated.

·         Leads the Quality Initiative in support of Operations, including leadership role on Continuous Improvement Teams within plant/company.

·         Ensures open communications are maintained between departments key to the quality goal.

·         Develops skills within the Operations group to ensure effective build-in quality into of the production process.

·         Develops, implements, and sustains new methods and procedures to drive improvements in overall quality and beverage safety and install performance improvement measurement tools to monitor progress.

·         Proactively researches and recommends enhancements to product quality, procedures, equipment, and management practices.

·         Develops, coaches, and mentors Supervisors and analysts at all levels.

·         Conducts and organize training for department/company.

·         Directly supervises and conducts performance appraisals of all direct reports and ensures all department evaluations are completed in a timely manner.

·         Ability to travel, work overtime and outside normal schedule as required.

·         Performs all other duties as assigned or requested.


SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Minimum Education

·         BS Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Food Science with Packaging Certification

·         Advanced degree desired

Minimum Experience

·         7-10 years’ experience Laboratory Quality Assurance environment and manufacturing.

·         7–10 years management experience

·         ISO Lead Auditor certification or training completed in the last three years or complete within the first year in the role.

·         Must possess and exhibit strong ability to work cohesively with others to accomplish company objectives.

·         Proficient working knowledge in applying general good laboratory practices and procedures demonstrating necessary safety training and exposures. 

·         Possess and demonstrate strong project management skills.

·         Self-motivated and dependable with ability to motivate others.            

·         Strong leadership capabilities with ability to get results through mentoring skills, to foster team-based approach to decision making.                       

·         Effective delegation skills, ability to think quickly, creatively and challenge team to do the same.

·         Exhibit flexible approach and willingness to work off shifts and weekends to accomplish goals.

·         Possess broad background including, but not limited to establishing and maintaining budgets, quality management strategies and philosophies.

·         Possess and demonstrate strong and effective training capability.

·         Excellent and polished presentation skills

·         Ability to handle stressful, fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.

·         Must be detailed oriented and have the ability to multi-task.

·         Must possess strong facilitation, confrontation and negotiating skills.

·         Excellent organizational, follow up, oral & written communication skills.

·         Strong math skills including statistical analyses.

·         Proficient personal computer and software skills

·         Effective problem-solving abilities

·         Excellent interpersonal skills to function as a team member and leader with a strong commitment to team concept

·         Strong working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, & OHSAS 45001
