What does a Quality Assurance Manager do? 

This role will be accountable for the management of the Quality function comprised of a multi- disciplined team of Quality professionals delivering accurate analytical results and ensuring best practices, standards, policies & training are effectively implemented.  Responsible for compliance to the Global Quality Manual and ensuring integrity of our ISO systems.

About You

  • BS Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Food Science.  Advanced degree preferred    
  • 5+ years leadership experience in a Quality function and laboratory management    
  • Demonstrated success implementing and leading organizational change
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills working across multiple level of the organization. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

With Our Consumer at the Heart, your Key Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Accountable for the development and implementation of the Quality 1-3 year plan in line with the SQS strategy 
  • Engage with the broader SQS team to build and execute the site business plan
  • Provide leadership, direction and development of the Quality Laboratory and QA Packaging Teams
  • Expertly use the QMS to ensure compliance with Company, Legislative and International standards.
  • Build and lead a culture of “Right First Time” Quality and Continuous Improvement across the operation. 
  • Ensure that internal processes, standards, tools and metrics are aligned to consistently deliver premium quality
  • Lead and track RCA/CAPA performance and report performance metrics to Senior Management
  • Track & Trend packaging material non-conformances through NCR database.  Work with Suppliers to correct.
  • Provide packaging material performance & quality information for the Quarterly Business Review meetings
  • Monitor CIP and identify areas of opportunity for increased consistency and performance
  • CAPEX and operational budgets plans delivered in line with business commitments.
  • Sponsor and ensure use of the InfinityQS ENACT database and LIMS software 
  • Timely communication to the broader Supply Chain in the event of Quality situations affecting the business.
  • Provide leadership and support of the VAP packaging operations at the Distribution Center
  • Assist SQS Lead with projects and special assignments as directed

  • Demonstrated success implementing and leading organizational change.
  • Leadership experience in deployment of advanced Quality strategies
  • In-depth knowledge of leading-edge Quality methodologies and instrumentation
  • Ability to align/engage the management team to deploy best practice
  • Strong working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, ISO 9000, HACCP and Food Defense measures  
  • ISO Lead Auditor certification or audit experience 
  • Coach & mentor direct reports providing developmental support to grow performance and potential of the individual
  • Foster continuous improvement through implementation of development plans to drive performance and potential
