RESPONSIBILITIES

With our Consumer at the heart, your key focus will be to:
  • Understand and manage the full Profit and Loss (P+L) to Earnings from Operations (EFO) level for the region and co-ordinate and consolidate the regional P&L.
  • Understand the cost cards (value chain) for the region and gain understanding of the excise policies impacting the pricing and value chain. Work with the Region team for price increases and representations wrt to price changes/product introductions.
  • Analyse and provide commentary on monthly performance, creating appropriate reporting required to sufficiently analyse the business across key metrics. Analyse monthly deviations against budget / forecast and propose corrective actions.
  • Perform and communicate regular Gap analysis versus targets and bring ideas to the team how to mitigate risks. Financialise action plans based on identified risks and opportunities in order to ensure strong financial performance.
  • Analyse key P&L components viz. discounts, distribution costs for assigned brands and communicate findings to brand and cluster leadership team. Develop MIS reports wrt to performance management.
  • Lead the monthly “Connect Calls” and S&OP process for the Region giving heads up on the NSV/GP and Risks & Opportunities for the Region.
  • Deep dive into internal (viz. Width of Dist., Rate of Sale) & external data points (viz. Industry report, market share) for performance evaluation and recommendations.
  • Ensure Measurement and Evaluation is embedded in the DNA of the business, developing processes and tools to enable this and working hand in hand with Trade Marketing teams and Region Heads.
  • Act as Marketing Decision Support on A&P budget definition & management for the Region, review & validation of business cases for activations or any other business opportunity.
  • Help drive strategic plans by providing relevant financial analytics and business insights to key stakeholders in the region, while developing robust tracking mechanisms.
  • Work on customer and 3rd party service provides contracts – rates and terms negotiations and support to the Region Team.
  • Work on special projects as and when they arise.
  • Provide Business Partnering and Support to the regional leadership.
  • Work closely with other members of the finance team to drive reporting improvements, targeting efficiency improvements at critical times, e.g. month end.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

The Skills & Experience needed to create your legacy
  • Accounting qualification (CA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) 
  • Experience in the Spirits and/or overall beverage Industry is a distinct advantage 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with an ability to convincingly stakeholders a case with supporting backup.
  • Financial Analysis: Ability to create advanced spreadsheets, explain variances to estimates, identify business risks and opportunities, and then make appropriate recommendations.
  • Assertive, and should be able to work in a matrix setup.
  • Knowledge of, and ability to apply, financial and forecasting procedures. This includes the ability to develop sound assumptions and produce relevant financial projections and models from those assumptions. A familiarity with standard financial accounting methodology.
  • Ability to work and think independently and confidence to share and persuade management on the validity of the analysis, conclusions, and recommendations.
  • Understanding of internal controls, standards, and processes to ensure accuracy and consistency in data used for decision-making, internal / external reporting, and communications.
  • Basic Operating Systems: Knowledge of basic software and operating systems and related aspects (e.g. system tools, software, hardware, related products and controls). Knowledge of SAP desirable but not essential.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
