Your Opportunity

This fantastic role based at Dewars Glasgow H.Q focuses on the management of our stocks of maturing inventory ensuring our whiskies are available for bottling both for today and into the future.

As a key member of the Blending / Inventory Team, you will be the first point of contact for all inventory related matters and responsible for line managing the Whisky Stocks Planner. Excellent numerical and data analysis skills are a must along with good reporting and communication skills to convey complex information. 

In an ever-changing world you will be required to model forecast scenarios on our DRAMS inventory management system presenting your results to a wide audience along with any potential opportunities or challenges. 

The ‘reach’ of the role is significant extending to Primos in other areas of Bacardi as well as key 3rd party stakeholders and as a result you will be required to work collaboratively on strategic initiatives maximising the efficiency within our bulk operations.

With our Consumer at the heart, your key focus will be to:
  • At all times adhere to Safety, Quality and Sustainability requirements at all Bacardi sites.
  • Working with the Blenders, Cask Specialist and wider Spirit Supply team to achieve the objectives of UK Supply Centre and the wider Bacardi business.  
  • Lead the Inventory Management function with the responsibility for managing the duties and development of the Whisky Stocks Analyst 
  • Primary point of contact for all Bulk Inventory related matters and queries.
  • Ensure all cask selections adhere to formula specifications, quality / cost standards and are vatted on time and in full to meet forecasted bottling requirements.
  • Along with our Blending Primos, plan and initiate any required re-casking operations to meet blend specifications. 
  • In collaboration with other Primos, model forecast scenarios to predict the impact on the supply of Scotch Whisky Based on the results identify opportunities to maximise the potential of our maturing inventory along with strategies to mitigate anticipated challenges. 
  • Determine and communicate future new make filling and mature disgorging requirements to key stakeholders, a key cornerstone to our Distillation and Bulk Operations infrastructure.   
  • Map inventory usage profiles for future Blend and Single Malt production and share with our Blending / Finance Primos. 
  • Devise & execute strategies in collaboration with Bulk Operations Management to maximise the space and operational efficiency of the Dewars cask warehouses.
  • Point of contact for Bacardi Internal and SOX audits on maturing inventory stocks. 


The Skills & Experience needed to create your legacy
  • Proven leadership skills and a strategic thinker.
  • Education to Degree level with the ability to demonstrate excellent numerical skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills 
  • Excellent Data Collection, Data Analysis, Planning and Reporting Skills   
  • Preferably 3+ years of relevant experience in operational areas of the whisky industry, ideally Blending, Bulk Supply or a related area.  
  • Daily user of DRAMS or other inventory management systems along with an awareness of SAP is highly desirable.  
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
