RESPONSIBILITIES

Being the Health, Safety & Security Manager for Bacardi, Cataño is: 
  • Leads the design and implementation of the Health, Safety & Security management systems, policies, and programs.
  • Supervise, develops, implements and monitors the work plan and strategies for the area under his/her charge, ensuring that it meets the company's objectives and promotes the continuous development of the department.
  • Coordinates and supervise industrial hygiene qualitative and quantitative assessments. 
  • Facilitates/conducts HS&S regulatory compliance audits, and internal assessments in conformance with the standards and regulatory compliance requirements as needed and assure execution of action plans. 
  • Provides knowledge and expertise for the development of procedures, guidelines, and tools to maintain HS&S site compliance with the existing and new regulatory requirements of the applicable agencies. 
  • Provides technical expertise and solutions in the areas of injury & illness prevention, physical hazard assessment, safety chemical management, risk management plans (RMP), new processes/equipment/product development, identification of appropriate personal protective equipment and safety/industrial hygiene standards interpretation. 
  • Acts as the site’s main contact for external audits/inspections by OSHA, ISO45001 and state/federal agencies. Facilitate involvement of Safety Committee, Emergency Response Team (ERT) and management as required.
  • Develop and implement emergency preparedness plans consistent with risk management and other reviews.
  • Ensure existence of a functioning site Emergency Response Team. Provides guidance and supports the Emergency Response Team as required. 
  • Participate in Business Continuity Plans activities and support the Crisis Management Team as required.
  • Maintains contractor safety program. Monitors HS&S performance of external contractors and establishes control requirements in case of deficiencies detected.
  • Maintain and supervise the Facility Security Plan at the Alcohol terminal consistent with risk management and regulatory requirements of the applicable agencies.
  • Supervise and oversee the security policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure the safety and security of our employees, clients, and assets. Coordinate security for special events and high-profile visitors.
  • Oversee the installation and maintenance of security equipment. 
  • Investigate accidents or incidents to discover causes, recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures. Maintains require documentation as per regulations.
  • Develop and manage the HS&S budget.
  • Partner collaboration with other departments to enhance HS&S performance, foster strategic enablers, and develop solutions to achieve the company’s objectives. 
  • Communicate in a clear and concise manner while building a good rapport with Primos across all levels. 
  • Other tasks required for the position such as participating in Finance, Operations and Supply Chain projects. 
  • Comply with the norms and procedures of Environmental, Health, Safety, Security, Quality and Policies established by the company.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Skills
  • Fluent in English and Spanish, other languages are a plus
  • Deep understanding of legal health and safety regulations.
  • Experience of interpreting new legislation/policy/regulation.
  • Experience of designing and implementing a safe and healthy framework in the workplace.
  • Experience managing emergency response plans and Emergency Response Teams.
  • Knowledge and experience auditing ISO45001.
  • Knowledge of security protocols and procedures.
  • Knowledge of data analysis and risk assessment.
  • Knowledge of MS Office / Teams 
  • Time management., Problem solving, Analytical, Strategic and Planning skills 
  • Experience in FMCG industry, Spirit industry, Manufacturing or Auditing
  • High learning agility, adaptability, and track record of exceptional results
  • Strong analytical skills, able to take complex ideas and summarize into concise insights and recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills; work globally across the organization with key stakeholders including senior management.
