RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support site management to ensure compliance with the standards established by regulatory agencies and the global EHS team.
- Review and administer environmental protection, sustainability, occupational safety, occupational health, industrial hygiene, process safety, fire protection, security, and training programs.
- Develops policies, procedures, programs and controls designed to eliminate company losses and reduce impacts, meet environmental and safety regulatory requirements and reduce company liabilities.
- Prepares, submits, and maintains data and information in support of required operating permits as required by Local, State and Federal regulations.
- Provide assistance to management to ensure compliance for the EH&S Management System, according to ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001/ISO 45001, and related activities (i.e., training, internal and external audits, certification, and management review).
- Responsible for the administration of the Worker's Compensation program for employees injured as a result of occupational injuries or illnesses.
- Collaborate with site management to formulate and execute a comprehensive Safety & Sustainability strategy, while also contributing to the achievement of the site EHS goals and objectives.
- Assists with Plant Security. Acts as back-up for Security and Emergency Management Specialist to supervise Security contractor for the LDC premises & personnel of Brand Home and Operations, including other future locations.
- Assist in developing emergency response plans to include preparedness, prevention, response and recovery.
- Facilitates administration of document control system for medical, environmental, industrial hygiene, safety, and training records.
- Coordinates investigations of incidents involving employee injuries, environmental issues/damage, chemical spills and releases, health and safety incidents and initiates reports as necessary. Work with department leadership to develop corrective action plans and ensure proper implementation and closure of actions.
- Analyze trends, audits, accident investigations, records of inspections of operational procedures, design of facilities, equipment and materials.
- Responsible for working with lead auditor/EHS Manager/Quality Manager in documenting and reporting non-conformance.
- Responsible for ensuring effective follow-up of non-conformance reports.
- Identify changes in laws and regulations that affect the processes and procedures established by the company and communicate them to the corresponding personnel.
- Coordinate and execute inspections/audits to detect and correct unsafe conditions and deviations from health and safety standards to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Prepare standard operating procedures for Environmental, Health and Safety and Security (NFPA, OSHA, Fire Permits, Health Department Permits and insurance companies) that apply to the company and distribute it to all company employees
- Develop and manage comprehensive EH&S training programs aligned with ISO/OHSAS standards and oversee the EHS learning management system to ensure continuous improvement and compliance.
- Facilitate and supervise training, education, and refresher sessions for all company personnel, regularly evaluating the training’s effectiveness to optimize employee performance and adherence to EH&S protocols.
- Responsible for the continuation and development of all EHS employee engagement activities (i.e. site safety committee, safety observations, etc.)
- Oversee Chemical Management System and associated programs (SARA, EPCRA, SDS’)
- Provides interface between local, State, and Federal regulatory agencies.
- Ability to travel, work overtime and outside normal schedule as required.
- Represents Company at industry meetings.
- Performs all other duties as assigned or requested.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Minimum Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree; Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, or related field preferred.
Minimum Experience:
- Minimum of 5 cumulative years of experience in Occupational Safety, Process Safety, Hazardous Waste Management, Wastewater management, Air Permitting, Environmental Engineering- Program Management in an industrial environment (e.g. OSHA, EPA, DOT, IATA, NFPA, etc.)
- ISO Lead Auditor Training or equivalent course or on the job experience. Must be either completed in the last three years or the incumbent must complete within the first year in the role.
Preferred Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the spirits production/manufacturing industry
- Must possess and exhibit strong ability to work cohesively with others to accomplish company objectives
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and follow-up skills

- Ability to coordinate and conduct effective meetings/training for large groups (20 - 30 individuals)
- Excellent presentation skills
- Exhibit flexible approach and willingness to work off shifts and weekends to accomplish goals
- Proficient personal computer and software skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills to function as a team member, leader and business partner with a strong commitment to team concept
