What does a EHS Coordinator Do?

As EHS Coordinator, you will ensure BBC’s sustainable footprint on the planet and helps drive our environmental program. You will lead our energy, water and waste goals, and deliver key activities in the areas of training, environmental reporting, and compliance assurance. You will also be responsible for the implementation of a management system that results in satisfaction of the 14 elements of OSHA’s PSM program and the Industrial Hygiene activities.

About You

You have a BS degree in relevant field of study (safety, engineering, chemistry). More than 3 years of EHS experience. Enthusiastic about Business Intelligence & analytics tools, Manufacturing 4.0, etc. You are self-motivated, dependable, flexible, detail oriented with good personal skills.   

RESPONSIBILITIES

With our consumer at the heart, your key focus will be
  • Lead accident investigations and communication process including the identification of root causes and the implementation of effective corrective/preventative actions.
  • Possess advanced expertise with federal, state, and local environmental regulations, permitting and recordkeeping requirements. Familiar with Clean Air Act, air emissions calculations, Clean Water Act, NPDES, EPCRA, SPCC, RCRA and hazardous waste management.
  • Responsible for generating and reporting annual submissions including but not limited to EPCRA Tier II, TRI Form R, GHG Reporting, and other requirements listed in permits.
  • Execution and deployment of the safety and health related plans and programs – LOTO, Electrical Safety, Chemical Management, Hearing Conservation, etc.
  • Conduct new hire safety orientation and other trainings as defined in the EHS Regulatory training matrix such as powered industrial lift trucks, LOTO, cranes, fall protection, etc.
  • Maintain SDS’s for all chemicals used in their departments. Updating on the online chemical management system.
  • Responsible for generating and reporting chemical inventory, emission (air-water-waste) metrics and other EHS data to Corporate for internal reporting requirement (i.e. Sustainability, GHG, etc.)
  • Supports (PHA) Process Hazard Analysis and (MOC) Management of Change review teams as PSM Leader for the site.

  • Strong working knowledge of local, state, and federal environmental, health & safety regulations; process safety management of hazardous chemicals; hazardous waste operations and emergency response.
  • Must have the ability to work independently and focus on detail, problem-solving and analytical ability.
  • Strong commitment to dependability and timeliness. High level of personal responsibility and accountability for results. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills. Must be detailed oriented and can multi-task.
  • You have a BS degree in relevant field of study (safety, engineering, chemistry). 
  • More than 3 years of EHS experience
