RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operations Management
- Accountable for the development and delivery of the operations plan to ensure that spirit supply is in line with customer demand
- Logistics management of inbound and outbound materials in line with the operations plan.
- Ensure that the distilling operation and the site meets Bacardi EHS standards and local regulatory requirements
- To accurately draw samples for Customs & Excise, internal and external laboratories and update, maintain all required records
- Maintain complete flexibility of operations across the distillery
- Identify maintenance requirements and potential plant failures
- Technical Leadership
- Ensures the that quality system is maintained to deliver finished gin standards in addition to compliance of GQM and ISO Standards
- Process Excellence and Continuous Improvement
- Champion continuous improvements, optimizing Global BOS and lean manufacturing process tools.
- Develop and deliver continuous improvement plans that will deliver best practice performance across our processes, equipment and systems.
- People
- Build HSE and Continuous improvement environment aligned to Bacardi standards across the site
- Actively participate in the continuous improvement of distillery operations/activities by considering current work practices and suggesting alternatives where appropriate.
- Work as one team to produce consistent spirit quality within budget and in a safe working environment.
- Ensure that all relevant samples are taken and despatched to customers, company laboratory, and external laboratories.
- Reinforce and strengthen the HSE culture at every opportunity in operations and projects
- Promote correct HSE behaviours through personal example
- Take action upon any health, safety and environmental matter brought to their notice, and report to their Manager on any matter which they are unable to rectify
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Ideally experience of a comparable position in the spirit industry
- Experience in manufacturing ideally from an International / Global company with a matrix organization
- Knowledge of distilling process
- Basic engineering experience/chemical engineering
- Operational process knowledge and skills with the ability to develop and deliver operational excellence across multiple processes
- Effective communicator and good interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage their own time effectively
- Basic numeracy is essential
- Distilling qualification would be beneficial but not essential
- Chemical Engineering qualification would be beneficial but not essential
- Language: English – F
