RESPONSIBILITIES
- Define and lead Commodity Risk Management (CRM) Strategy to manage the exposures arising from annual spend on raw and packaging materials.
- Build consensus and alignment with key stakeholders in treasury, finance, procurement, tax and legal to grow risk management program and “hedge able” spend.
- Develop best practices for managing price risk.
- Provide leadership on direct and indirect materials pricing and contracts.
- Build relationships with key suppliers and financial counterparties for the execution of strategy.
- Develop and share your specialist knowledge and assist in the professional development of the team in this area.
- Analyse and develop deep understanding of the supply markets, including external economic factors which influence those markets.
- Provide regular risk strategy updates and market view to the Commodities Risk Committee.
- Provide regular updates to key senior leadership team members upon request.
- Represent BACARDI at relevant industry meetings and events.
- Internal: Procurement, Supply Chain, R&D team, Legal, Marketing team, Finance business partners, Treasury and Financial reporting
- External: Suppliers: Banks and other financial partners, raw material and packaging suppliers.
- Travel globally for Supplier meetings, Industry meetings, project meetings and team meetings. Travel intensity as per job requirements.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Higher professional education / university degree.
- 8 plus years leading commodity risk management in a consumer goods company and or corporate hedging sales/trading at a bank or commodity trading house. An understanding of the cost drivers of glass and packaging materials would be an asset.
- Firm understanding or supplier and financial hedging.
- Experience in implementing and or improving risk and trade capture and reporting systems.
- Ability to build a professional network in new markets.
- Proven experience leading and delivering innovative in risk management solutions and building teams around these efforts.
- Understanding basic hedge accounting (US GAAP /FASB ASC-815 and compliance rules (CFTC, DODD-FRANK, etc)
- Familiar with FP&A processes in a corporate
- Experience on large-scale change management projects.
- Exemplify a high degree of personal integrity and interpersonal, negotiation, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
- Fluent in verbal and written communication in English
- Capable of bringing change and building consensus to move projects forward at all levels.
