YOUR OPPORTUNITY
- You will lead the monthly review of risks and opportunities against Commercial Financial objectives and execution of commercial strategies (pricing, mix, discounts, local promotion funds) highlighting the potential impact on our full year financial performance and health of the P&L (Gross to net, gross profit) with a view to providing insight to support effective business decisions
- You will have an in depth knowledge and understanding of the Commercial strategy in order to align the financial elements of that strategy and how it relates to the respective geography
- You will provide ongoing support and evaluation of actual performance against targets to ensure timely decision making.
- This role is varied and, while based in the Milano office, you will be required to interface with your key client groups to fulfil your role. As such, you may be required to travel within your geography in order to stay connected to all stakeholders.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide timely analysis on top line (Sales and pricing) and Gross Profit performance, promotional activity analysis / ROI and customer/Country/CBU Profit & Loss (P&L)
- Support commercial teams with management/control of pricing, discounts, and trade spend opportunities and effectiveness
- Lead the financial budgeting and planning process for the commercial team, ensuring that pricing, discount and Trade spends are reflected accurately and are executed according to plan
- Identify, evaluate and communicate risks and opportunities to the business in a timely manner
- Continuously look to reduce complexity and simplify our processes across planning, reporting, performance measurement and including how we use our supporting systems and tools (i.e. SAP, BI, Anaplan etc.) to drive greater focus on value added business partnering
- Work closely with the regional Integrated Business Planning (IBP/Anaplan) team to address challenges and find optimisations in the use of the Anaplan system
- Build and foster solid business partnering relationships with internal and external customers
- Provide expertise to Regional / Cluster Commercial Teams on all financial aspects of the Commercial plans
- Provide stewardship of the Financial Commercial strategy as executed within the Region / Cluster within your geography
- Provide execution and financial analysis of the Sales & Operations (S&OP) process
- Active participation in the Regional Sales Decision Support network team
- Ensure that our commitments under the Brown Forman cost share agreement are fully met including provision of timely Financial data, Risk & Opportunities assessment, management of the Commercial Planning process, assistance with general P&L brand / Anaplan queries and S&OP process insight
- Build a sense of community across Region, Cluster and Country Finance teams – drive best practice sharing and adoption across the region by actively engaging in cross Cluster Projects and initiatives
- Motivate, coach and develop the SDS team to ensure the Cluster is consistently challenging the status quo to simplify ways of working and focus time on driving business growth
- Ensure all direct team members have a knowledge of Bacardi company history and culture
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Strong track record of performance and delivery within Finance in a Consumer goods company, with multiple years of delivery in a managerial role
- Proven ability to work seamlessly within a matrix organisation
- Strong customer focus with an external outlook
- Solid experience of managing a P+L, forecasting, RoI calculations, Excise & Duty impacts, risk management, Price structures and financial reporting
- Strong analytical skills, comfortable with ambiguity, able to take complex ideas and summarize into concise insights and recommendations
- Effective communication skills, able to influence comfortably with senior leaders and motivate change
- Able to think strategically and understand the business and Category drivers well
- High-energy with a sense of urgency, accuracy, and attention to detail
- A change agent - continuously look for opportunities to improve processes, Simplify, identify issues and provide recommendations for improvement
- Process focused with an understanding of end to end business processes and their financial impacts
- Ability to identify root cause issues and develop plans to resolve
- Skilled at organizing and prioritizing multiple projects and resource constraints to optimize results
- Proven ability to coach and develop winning teams
- Advanced expertise in MS Office including Excel (Pivots, Vlookup, Conditional Functions, etc.), data collection and analytics
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to a changing, fast paced environment
- Fluent English and Italian
- Experience in the Spirits Industry is a distinct advantage
- Experience in additional functions beyond the ones listed above
- BA in Finance, Accounting, Business (or equivalent)
- Accounting qualification
