What does an Assistant Manager, Bottling do?

This exciting and fast paced role gives the incumbent the opportunity to shine in both their technical expertise through the ownership of multiple productions lines and through their leadership of others. In a self-directed teams environment, this position will have direct supervisory responsibilities for both production line crews (Bottling Line Operators and Team Technical Coordinators) and Production Shift Superintendents. 

The Assistant Manager, Bottling will own all aspects of line performance. It is the expectation that through evaluation of current policies & procedures and analysis of current and past performance, the incumbent will identify and implement scope for improvement with a continuous emphasis on safety, quality, and efficiency.

With a focus on people, the incumbent will foster a high performing culture through development of primo capabilities, performance management, and succession planning.

RESPONSIBILITIES

With our consumer at the heart your key focus will be
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with all OSHA and company safety regulations and policies.
  • Develop and maintain a strong working knowledge and practice of all personal safety, food safety, quality, and environmental policies, procedures, and practices. Ensure team members follow the same. 
  • Support and participate in the plant HACCP team.
  • Be an active member of the CIP group.
  • Lead with ownership two to three bottling production lines.
  • Provide direct supervision to two Production Shift Superintendents and approximately thirty bottling line operations employees including both Bottling Line Operators and Team Technical Coordinators within safety, quality, budgetary and regulatory guidelines. 
  • Define and implement learning, development, and training plans and strategies for the Production Shift Superintendents, BottlingSupervisor, Team Technical Coordinators, and Bottling Line Operators.
  • Drive problem solving, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement activities to ensure bottling efficiency within cost standards. 
  • Manage successful implementation of Continuous Improvement pillars driving engagement in Lean Manufacturing 
  • Monitor and analyze key metrics (OEE, unplanned downtime, etc.), quality, and production data to improve yields and throughput according to quality standards. 
  • Works with Bottling Supervisors to analyze and resolve issues related to efficiency, material loss, and waste.
  • Drive improvement on KPIs through collaboration with various functions and timely execution on the bottling lines
  • Develop and maintain a good working knowledge of all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) for the Bottling area. 
  • Utilize a continuous improvement mindset to support evolution of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).
  • Lead team initiatives such as the implementation of the Bacardi Operation System (BOS).
  • Provide appropriate people related support including but not limited to recruitment, engagement, performance management, coaching, and corrective measures.

  • Strong written and verbal communications skills that enable the ability to share idea with audiences at multiple levels of the organization and across a variety of platforms. 
  • Commitment to continuous development of Leadership Agility and the experience to successfully provide coaching, team building, supervision, talent development, and performance management. 
  • High level of interpersonal savvy that allows for cross function collaboration and team leadership. 
  • An understanding of data analysis with an acute sense of attention to detail and the ability to multi-task. 
  • Knowledgeable and driven for organizing, planning, execution, and follow-up.
  • A strategic mindset with the ability to think critically to understand problems and develop logical solutions.
  • Familiarity of Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Able to work outside of normal schedule as needed.
MINIMUM EDUCATION
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business or a related field.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE
  • Two or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment with packaging/high speed production (bottling, consumer products, etc.)
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office Suite - Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SAP PM preferred.
  • Experience leading others toward a common goal. 
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
  • SAP PM, project management, financial acumen including budget development and ownership, manufacturing equipment installation and start-up
